This weekend at camelot_fleet, themadlurker was rewarding people who finished their camelotsolstice fics with crackfic, and I got her to write adorable Gwen and Merlin BFF genfic set at the end of the Witchfinder episode. I love those two so much omg and this made me happy and made me laugh.

I was telling claudia603 that this one reminds me of an Old School Frodo/Aragorn fic, with adventure plot, protective!Arthur/brave-but-vulnerable!Merlin, misunderstandings, and really intense emotion. It's got some technical issues but I still found it really affecting and a great read.

I haven't especially gotten into Merlin RPS but I was interested in the summary about sexual incompatibility. I thought it would be cute and it turned out to be adorable but also angsty and crazy hot. Hooray!

It's Merlin and Uther and spanking! I kinked on it at the meme and then it turned out to be by my friend! So awesome!

-Unusual Behavior by anon (Uther with implied Arthur/Merlin, nothing explicit)
Sometimes it's nice to read a fic where Uther is a good guy, at least in his own head! In this one he wants to make sure Arthur isn't taking advantage of Merlin. Very well written.

And two works in progress:
-Differently Sane by anon (Merlin-centric, I assume eventual Arthur/Merlin but with prominent Merlin and Morgana interaction yay)
OMG. Those of you who've known me for a while know that I have a very old and very strong kink for "Am I crazy?" stories in any form, and Claudia knows that I've been wanting a fic about Merlin in a psychiatric hospital for months. I wasn't the person to request it but I could have been, and I'm eating it up with a spoon.

Uni AU in which Arthur has a crush on his roommate Lancelot's boyfriend Merlin. After the promised Arthur/Merlin/Lancelot porn, will it end in Arthur/Merlin or a threesome ship? The author says they do not know! We are all in suspense!

Go check out Susan Knowles' webcomic Reliquary-- a dark fantasy with zombie-like angels. She just produced an ashcan of it over the summer.

It's chock full of diversity, agic, friendship and women doing useful stuff instead of being love objects, set decorations and side kicks. So are all the rest of her stories and many of her illustrations.

Apocalypse Cakes. I have no idea where I found this one but it brightened my day. I kind of want to make the Jonestown cake. Though everyone forgets it was Flavor-Aid.

BSG folk, you totally need to watch this vid about the frakked up relationship between Bill Adama and Starbuck: Like My Very Own Blood by jarrow. It's FANTASTIC. Creepy and utterly heartbreaking and just... takes the idea that Adama made Starbuck into his second son, his replacement for Zak, to its logical conclusion, including the damage it inflicts on her, him, and Lee. And of course Kara accepts it, clings to it - how does she know any better? *cuddles her* Really well done, and you know how bad I am at getting vids, but this one made total sense to me.
