Yuletide reveals are up! therefore, although i'm still waiting on one or two other reveals, it's round-up time. :)

2008: more multi-fandom madness

HP:
way back in the spring, i wrote this isn't what it looks like, a Dance Marathon drabble for Amy! the rest of these are challenge/exchange stories, and thank goodness for them, otherwise i'd write Remus and Sirius even less than i do now.
- for remixredux08: Fields of Gold, or Elysium (the Nothing Else Compares Remix).
- Today, From a Distance was written for Round One of rs_games.
- and finally, i wrote (I'll be) home for Christmas, a gift for crooked in the rs_small_gifts exchange.

Good Omens:
The Last Word, written for thesilentpoet in the go_exchange.

GGKay:
i didn't write as much as i'd hoped to this year, but i do have a couple of things:
- fairytales, a slice of Tigana from the dreamweft drabble pot! the community was founded in June, with avendya's help.
- and secondly, a Coke at 5:00, a going-to-SSP present for avendya in the Ysabel-verse.

Wild Adapter:
this one's the fandom that ate my brain, and it all started with finders keepers, Mosh's birthday present! then i wrote lost and found, a drabble from otw_onlinecon, and on the return, a random ficbit. and then, reddwarfer started the saltydogstories exchange, and how could i resist the enabling? *g* ars fortuna was written for inksheddings in Round 1. i once was blind was written when i was actually supposed to be working on something else, and then there was sea change, a birthday ficlet for inksheddings.

Saiyuki:
okay, i'm a little ambivalent about the fact that my first attempt at Saiyuki was a blatant, blatant AU scenario, but i do have the inevitable conclusion, a rather belated (and still in-progress!) birthday present for kispexi2. however, i also wrote Chasing the Sun for ditch_gospel in Round 2 of saltydogstories, which does make me feel better about it.

Okane ga Nai:
i wrote collector's items, thanks to a drabble prompt from otw_onlinecon.

Kyou Kara Maou:
above the crowd is also from otw_onlinecon. (the prompt was for Murata and Shinou; how could i not write it?) also, Pride of Place was written for hisoka44 in the kkm_xmas exchange.

Yuletide:
my assigned story this year was like a whole almond (Wild Adapter, Kubota/Tokito, PG-13), written for tehlils. there wasn't as much Madness for me, alas, but i did write piece of sky, a Yuletide Treat for Cyn (Stigma, Stork/Tit, PG) that i'm actually quite pleased with. all in all, it was a satisfying way to end the year!

or, 2007: things wot i wrote

this year i've deviated from HP quite a lot! my muse has sort of wandered away from R/S lately, but i still wrote a drabble for sambethe and a silly flufflet inspired by someone's scribbly icon.

things i wrote at random throughout the year include:
- blood-red sun, written for sambethe's birthday (and out of excitement over Kay's latest book Ysabel)
- my first attempt at Remix, for which i wrote Skipping, Stopping and Starting Over, the Dare Disturb the Universe Remix of midnitemaraud_r's Running to Stand Still
- an SGA get-well drabble for setissma, despite never having watched the show
- guardi le stelle, a birthday fic for Amy, and
- the way back to grace, a big_little present for grace_istheword, which were both set in His Dark Materials, post-series.

over the summer, i discovered the cracktastic world of Kyou Kara Maou, and fell head over heels for Conrad/Yuuri, which resulted in a nocturne in three parts. at Amy's poking, i also claimed a Pan's Labyrinth prompt over at smallfandomfest, but due to life and lack of proper inspiration, i didn't finish it. :( can we say, first thing on my list for 2008?

for the lovely rs_small_gifts exchange, i wrote wintersong for leafyaki and solstice for solidbaby.

and finally: Yuletide this year was both insane and rewarding, as i wrote my original assignment, Aurora Borealis, a His Dark Materials story for slipsthrufingers, in four hours after my last final on December 19th... and then got sucked into trolling the pinch-hit list. i ended up writing 5 stories for Yuletide Madness:
- Flowerfire: Winter's End, a Fionavar gift for Taelle
- a tale of first meetings, which was written for astrophelstella in Robin McKinley's Damar series
- Letters from Rajmuat, a piece of Tamora Pierce fluff set in the Tortall universe for NutterZoi
- a solitary blue, a Fionavar ficlet written for Isagel
- touch, a Shounen Onmyouji drabblet for Eldritch

... huh. i totally didn't realize i'd written this much. not bad! :D

i haven't really done this before, but... looking back on all the writing i've done for the year, it actually stacks up to quite a lot. *boggles*

2006: a fandom retrospective

okay, so it's actually been more like a year and a half since i've been in the HP fandom, but i feel like my R/S really became more coherent. it probably helped that all the seasonal stuff i did (blanketforts, dogdaysofsummer, scarvesnhats) forced me to get into my groove, and for archiving's sake i'll post the taglists below:

in among the madness, one nonsensical (untitled) insomniac drabble, when i was trying to break out of a long dry spell!

'06 was also a year of firsts: the previously mentioned seasonal communities, a first venture into writing GO *coughA/C* here, and the madness of not one, but three holiday exchanges!

for go_exchange, i wrote every day just (or not quite) like the day before as a gift for bastloki. it's very much Them/Adam-centric, which i was glad of when i saw the prompt, because i don't think i have a handle yet on writing a "proper" aziraphale or crowley- i don't have the snark down yet. oh, and i believe melandry is the one you can blame for tempting me into this exchange! *g* thank you, dear. &hearts

for rs_small_gifts, i wrote if you can't say it at christmas (when can you?) for medicinal_mirth, and train (terrain) tracks for magnetic_pole.

and finally, for yuletide, the motherlode of all fandoms EVER, i wrote... love, do you remember my name, in Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar universe. in fact, i was so inordinately happy about the opportunity to play in this fandom that i wrote a second story, The Longest Road, as a New Year's present for all the Yuletiders! :D it was madness, it was panic-inducing, it was... totally worthwhile. i'd absolutely do it again. by the by, both of my stories are very spoilery if you haven't read the books, so you have two options, really: 1) go drool over the books, and then come back and read them, or 2) read the stories, and if anything pings you, go drool over the books. either way... you really do fucking need to read the Fionavar Tapestry, and Guy Gavriel Kay in general. *g*
