I was going to count the manga by series, but considering that I didn't actually get to finish all of the series I read, I ended up going by volumes. So, out of the 103 books I read in 2010, 60 were by POC, 28 were manga, 10 were by Ursula LeGuin (er, systematic borrowing ftw?), 3 were poetry books, 3 were non-fiction, 23 were rereads, and 37 were non-SF/F. That last is kind of a big deal for me; I've been a genre reader all my life, barring school requirements! I didn't really keep track of the various books I left unfinished, though.

This is definitely not the most I've ever read in a year. About half of these books were consumed during my work commute, whereas my usual/preferred reading MO is to sit and book-binge for several hours before returning to the real world. While it was a good way to pass the time, it broke my concentration a lot, & I didn't read as much outside of my commute. Also, I slacked off on commute-reading in favor of commute-napping for extended periods, so those two factors drastically lowered the year's end count. :P Er, I don't have notes written up for most of these books, but if you're curious you can ask me about them? I do remember my reactions, if not necessarily details.

Goals for 2011: smaller proportion of rereads, more non-fiction and poetry, tracking down more of the books already on my to-read list, and being a little more diligent about keeping notes/reactions! I should probably also stop finishing books that make me bored or angry, as opposed to leaving them lying about for ages or throwing them at walls, heh.
